JAGATGURU SHANKARACHARYA BESTOWS ‘SWARA MAULI’ TITLE UPON LATA MANGESHKAR

Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar is one of the most respected and revered playback singers of India, having recorded songs for over a thousand Hindi films and in over 36 regional Indian and foreign languages. Besides, being the recipient of three National Film Awards, 12 Bengal Film Journalist’s Association Awards, 4 Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards, 2 Filmfare Special Awards, Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Officer of the Legion of Honour Award (France’s highest civilian award) among many others, honours and awards are commonplace for this legend. Yet, Lata Mangeshkar is touched when she is respected and honoured when Shrimad Jagatguru Shankaracharya Param Pujya Vidyanarsimha Bharati Swami of Math at Karvir, Kolhapur, chose to honour her with the ‘Swara Mauli’ title and conferred the same to her at her Prabhu Kunj residence in Mumbai on May 12. “It is a very happy moment for us. Jagatguru Shankaracharya had met me earlier at Kolhapur and had conferred the Swara Bharati. I cannot recall the year though,” says Lata Mangeshkar humbly." That Jagatguru Shankaracharya considered me worthy of the second title of Swara Mauli is a matter of immense honour for me. And the fact that my name came to his mind for the honour and he chose to call me to convey the same and is coming to honour me personally makes me feel very blessed. It is not something that you receive every day and I am truly grateful to him for this blessing.” Adds veteran composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar, “It is a tradition and we feel very honoured. Shrimad Jagatguru Shankaracharya Param Pujya Vidyanarsimha Bharati Swami has ordained our father with the Sangeet Ratna title and I was bestowed with Bhaav Gandharva. Now, he has honoured Lata di with Swara Mauli. This is her second title after Swara Bharati and we all feel truly privileged.” जगतगुरू शंकराचार्य ने लता मंगेशकर को ‘स्वरमाऊली’ टायटिल से सम्मानित किया भारतरत्न लता मंगेशकर भारत की सबसे ज्यादाकल सम्मानित और श्रदेधय प्लेबैक सिंगर हैं, जिन्होंने हजारों हिन्दी फिल्में और 36 क्षेत्रीय भारतीय भाषाओं और विदेशी भाषाओं में गाने रिकार्ड किए हैं. इसके अलावा तीन नेशनल फिल्म अवार्ड्स, 12 बंगाली फिल्म जर्निलस्ट्स एसोसिएशन अवार्ड्स, 4 फिल्मफेअर बेस्ट फिमेल प्लेबैक अवार्ड्स, 2 फिल्मफेअर स्पेशल अवार्ड्स, फिल्मफेअर लाइफ टाइम एचिवमेंट अवार्ड और दादासाहेब फाल्के अवार्ड और द ऑफिसर ऑफ द लिजन आफ ऑनर अवार्ड (फ्रांस का उच्चतम नागरिक अवार्ड) के अलावा अन्य कई सम्मान और अवार्ड्स से इस लीजेंड को सम्मानित किया गया है. इसके बावजूद जब करविर मठ, कोल्हापुर के जगतगुरू शंकराचार्य ने स्वर मौली टायटिल से सम्मानित करने के लिए उनका चयन किया तो लता मंगेशकर अत्यंत प्रभावित हुईं. यह अवार्ड उन्हें उनके प्रभु कुंज स्थित निवास, मुंबई में 12 मई को दिया गया. ``यह हमारे लिए बहुत खुशी का क्षण है. जगतगुरू शंकराचार्य मुझसे पहले भी कोल्हापुर में मिल चुके हैं और मुझे स्वर भारती प्रदान किया है. हालांकि, मुझे साल याद नहीं है,'' लता मंगेशकर बहुत विनम्रता से कहती हैं. ``जगतगुरू शंकराचार्य ने मुझे दूसरे टायटिल स्वर मौली के लायक समझा यह मेरे लिए बहुत सम्मान की बात है. और यह सच कि इस सम्मान के लिए मेरा नाम उनके जेहन में आया और उन्होंने मुझे ये बात फोन करके बताई और अब मुझे सम्मानित करने के लिए खुद आ रहे हैं, मैं खुद को बहुत सौभाग्यशाली समझती हूं. यह ऐसी चीज है जिसे आप हमेशा नहीं पा सकते और उनके इस आशीर्वाद के लिए मैं उनकी आभारी हूं.'' जाने माने संगीतकार हृदयनाथ मंगेशकर कहते हैं, ``यह एक परंपरा है और हम काफी सम्मानित महसूस कर रहे हैं. शंकराचार्य ने हमारे पिता को संगीतरत्न टायटिल से सम्मानित किया था और मुझे भाव गंधर्व प्रदान किया गया था. और अब उन्होंने लता दी को स्वर मौली से सम्मानित किया है. यह उनका स्वर भारती के बाद दूसरा टायटिल है और हम सब सचमुच काफी गौरवान्वित महसूस कर रहे हैं.''
