Ustad Hidayat Khan wants to revive the magic of classical music; offers no-cost music to Bollywood Filmmakers

In an attempt to resuscitate the charm of classical music in the Hindi film industry, Ustad Hidayat Khan, renowned Sitarist has taken up an initiative to offer pro-bono music to the filmmakers of Bollywood who would like to use classical music in their films. From films with Raj Kapoor where instruments were given their due in every song to the remix era today, there has been a massive shift. With technology adding in convenience but removing the raw beauty of classical music, Hidayat Khan hopes to remind audiences of the melody and strike a chord with his music. Son of legendary musician Vilayat Khan, Hidayat has classical music in his veins. He understands today's cinema and its massive reach nationally and internationally. Having classical music will give an authentic touch to the music and add emotion to the scores to today. "Times have changed a lot from my father's years and classical music is now mostly only for the connoisseurs. The beauty of it is not being enjoyed by the common man because of the lack of mediums to reach them. I'm happy to offer free classical music to filmmaker who wish to recreate the magic of classical music in films and I hope they will add this classic flavour in their artwork", says Hidayat Khan Hidayat has received immense praise for his notable work and passion towards his craft. He has performed at The Black Ball Charity in NYC with Alicia Keys and has collaborated with such illustrious musical names as Ndugu Chancler, Ronnie Woods, Usher, Zakir Hussain, Pete Townshend,Will.I.Am, Jay Z and Darryl Jones. He has a host of live performances, lecture-demonstrations, and musical theatre pieces in the pipeline, which will be out in 2019.
