President Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee and MP Rajya Sabha Kumari Selja said that BJP and RSS both are continuously attacking our constitution and the principles on which it is based. Once again BJP has attacked the fundamental right of reservation of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes. Kumari Selja was speaking in the protest held by the Congress against the BJP government's conspiracy of ending the reservation facility to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and backward classes, in Yamunanagar today. She said that special rights were given to us in the constitution, but BJP attacked these rights many times. Recent example is of the Uttarakhand BJP government whose lawyers argued that reservations are not a fundamental right as per the constitution. They have betrayed the people who belong to the SC, ST and the backward classes. The Uttarakhand Government said in the Supreme court that the constitution does not provide reservation in government jobs for these categories as a fundamental right. It was also said that the governments are also not bound by the constitution to provide reservation in jobs. She said that the Modi government and RSS in association with Uttarakhand Government planned this conspiracy. This clearly shows that the BJP government wants to end this fundamental right. Kumari Selja said that the RSS and BJP had time and again demanded to review and end the reservation in jobs. Earlier, the demolition of 500 years old Guru Ravidas Temple and cancelling the law having provision of saving the reserved categories from oppression, are a part of this sinister conspiracy. She said that the Congress party had enacted the Atrocities Act and when she was Social Justice and Empowerment Minister in Union Government she further strengthened it. But when BJP government came into power, it did not take up the matter seriously in the Supreme Court due to which it was cancelled. After this, Congress party started protest and government had to introduce an Amendment She said that the party will fight against the antipeople policies of the government under the leadership of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Leader Rahul Gandhi.
