NEW DELHI, August 27, 2021—Ex-MLA and vice-president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee Shri Jaikishan said that the Dalit community will boycott the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP MLAs for the continued assaults on Dalits, particularly sexual assaults on Dalit girls and women, as the BJP Government at the Centre and the AAP Government in Delhi were taking no action against those who commit crimes against Dalits. He said that very soon, a Maha Panchayat of Dalits from all over the country will be held to start a country-wide protest against assaults on Dalits.

DPCC president Ch. Anil Kumar said that Congress has always stood by the Dalit community, and will continue to stand by the Dalits in their struggles, as it has been Congress’ policy to work for their upliftment and development.

Addressing a press conference at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan here today, Shri Jaikishan said that Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Sultanpur Mazra, Mukesh Ahlawat, was guilty of moral turpitude and shielding rapists, as he forced a Gujarati Dalit girl, who was raped by his PSO Irfan, to withdraw her complaint. He said that the police detained her in the police station for over five hours, though an FIR has been filed against Irfan. He said that Ahlawat was himself guilty of bigamy and his second wife has filed a police complaint against him, but due to pressure from the Arvind Government, police was not taking action gainst Ahlawat. Others present at the press conference were ex-MLA and former Deputy Speaker Shri Amrish Gautam, Municipal Councillor Smt. Sushila Khorwal and district president Rajesh Chauhan.

Shri Jaikishan said that assaults on women have gone up manifold ever since the Arvind Government came to power in Delhi, as the Chief Minister was giving protection to his criminal MLAs from police action.

Shri Jaikishan said that Mukesh Ahlawat had earlier shielded another  PSO of his, Arman, who raped a Sultanpuri girl, but pressurised the girl to marry Arman, after hushing up the case by putting pressure on the police. The girl was also given Rs 5 lakh as inducement to silence her. He said that Mukesh Ahlawat’s real face will be exposed before the people of Sultanpur Mazra, so that people can realise what kind of people they have elected as AAP MLAs.

Shri Jaikishan said that a 14-year-old girl from Sultanpuri had been kidnapped three months ago, but despite filing an FIR against the criminal involved in the crime, the Police was not taking any action. He said that the Union Home Ministry and the Delhi Government were keeping a stony silence against sexual assaults on Dalit women as a calculated attempt is being made to target Dalits for attacks across the country.
