BJP and its leaders are diverting people from real issues which are affecting the general public and creates a false narrative to confuse people during the election time --Anil Bhardwaj

On burning issues like unemployment, inflation, law and order, environment and the worsening air pollution, the Congress Party has  been amplifying the voice of the  people by seeking answers from BJP government ---Anil Bhardwaj

Don't talk about this and that, tell me who is responsible for the plight of Delhi? - BJP government! --Anil Bhardwaj

NEW DELHI, May 19, 2024--Chairman of the Communications Department of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee and former MLA Shri Anil Bhardwaj said that Delhi Lok Sabha elections, BJP was skirting  basic issues like food, clothing, housing and employment affecting  the common people of Delhi, instead it was diverting from the main issues to confuse and confound the  people. He said that on serious  issues like Delhi's environment, worsening pollution problem,  unemployment, rising inflation, law and order etc. the Congress Party has been continuously demanding answers from the BJP Central Government  to amplify the  voice of the public, but the BJP  leaders have been avoiding speaking about  the real issues affecting the people .

Shri Bhardwaj said that Congress has been seeking answers from the BJP about the contribution of its 7 MPs for the development  and in solving the problems of the people of Delhi in the past five years, but the BJP hastily  changed its candidates by dropping  6 of its 7 sitting MPs in Delhi, which was a clear case of running away from the existing reality. He said that it was not only the inaction and incompetence of the sitting BJP MPs that stalled development, but also due to the authoritarian manner of governance by the BJP Government at the Centre.

Shri Bhardwaj said that BJP MPs have been representing all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi for the last 10 years but they had failed to address the various  problems affecting their constituencies due to which people were upset and angry, and fearing certain defeat, the BJP changed its sitting MPs post-haste. He said that despite the Prime Minister handing over the keys of some flats constructed to resettle those living in JJ Clusters of Kalkaji, though the in-situ construction of flats to resettle residents of JJ Clusters was started  by the Congress Government, the BJP MPs took no further action to provide flats to slum dwellers, and also to provide even basic civic facilities to those living in unauthorized colonies, resettlement colonies and J.J. clusters. He said that no concrete work had been done in the capital by the Central Government to prevent environmental degradation, including addressing the toxic pollution of air and water. He said that Yamuna cleaning, repairing the  cracked roads, parking, infrastructure improvement, maintenance of parks, community buildings and schemes under the DDA, should have been done on a priority basis, but the Delhi MPs found no time to get works on these issues completed.

Shri Anil Bhardwaj said that before coming to power, BJP had promised to provide 2 crore jobs to the youth every year, but the number of unemployed youth in Delhi has been continuously increasing and unemployment in the country is at its peak recorded in the last  45 years with Delhi contributing the maximum number of unemployed persons.  He said that PM Modi should tell how many youth of Delhi were given employment in the last 10 years, because according to the current data, 30 lakh posts are lying vacant in the Central Government. He said that the Modi government has been the biggest failure in providing employment to the youth, despite its hollow promises.

Shri Bhardwaj said that Delhi is a vibrant city where the youth, the poor and the needy from every region of the country come to earn their living. Why don't BJP and Prime Minister Modi take responsibility for rising unemployment, backbreaking inflation, doubling and quadrupling of the   prices of everyday items like petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG, PNG, pulses, oils, seeds, vegetables, milk, curd etc? Why are they telling lies to the people, and  making confusing statements, to mislead people during the Lok Sabha election time? He said that in the last 10 years, the price of an LPG  cylinder increased from Rs 400 to Rs 1100, petrol prices went up from Rs 72 to Rs 95 per litre, diesel price  increased   from Rs 55 to Rs 88 per litre and CNG price increased from Rs 38 to Rs 74, but the BJP MPs were silent.

Shri Bhardwaj said that instead of finding solutions to the current issues in the capital, BJP and its leaders are trying to mislead the people by showing a direction devoid of subject matter, while ignoring the pain and suffering faced by the poor, helpless, deprived, backward, lower and middle class people of Delhi. The responsibility of the problems lies with the BJP leaders and they should answer why solutions to the problems of Delhi could not be found in the past 10 years. He said that the BJP leaders should not “talk about this and that”, instead  they should tell the people about who was responsible for the plight of Delhi? - BJP government! Only BJP government!

He said that on May 25, due to the failure of the BJP government and neglect of Delhi, the aware voters of Delhi will vote for the victory of the candidates of India Alliance in all the seven Lok Sabha seats of Delhi. He said that if the Congress and India coalition government is formed at the Centre, we will once again start giving momentum to the country's progress by implementing the 5 Nyay Sankalp and 25 guarantees for the welfare and development of the people of Delhi.
