The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, former Union Minister, former President of Haryana Congress, and Incharge of Uttarakhand and candidate from the Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency for Congress (India Alliance), Kumari Selja, said that in the ten years of politics, there have been many changes, and today, a battle is ongoing in the country to save the Constitution and democracy. Instead of working for the welfare of the general public, the government is playing games with the people and farmers through portals. Farmers are not even compensated for their ruined crops, and loans worth lakhs and crores are being waived off for the rich. While the government claims "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" (Development for All), when all the rights of the village heads are snatched away, how will development happen in the villages? During this government's tenure, unemployment, corruption, and inflation are increasing rapidly. Instead of paying attention to public issues, the government talks about division in the name of religion in the country and society. Kumari Selja toured several villages in the Rania Assembly constituency on Friday and participated in programs, appealing to vote for Congress. Kumari Selja started the election campaign from the village of Bhambhur, where she was warmly welcomed wherever she went. There was enthusiasm among the youth, and blessings were showered by the women and elders. Senior Congress leaders, including Dr. K.V. Singh, MLA Shishpal Keharwala, former MLAs Randhir Singh Dheera, Malkit Singh Khosa, Comrade Swarn Singh Virk, Advocate Sandeep Nehra (son of former Minister Jagdish Nehra), Jaswant Kaswan, Hariom Kaushik, Rajesh Chadiwal, Ratan Gedar, Vishal Varma, Gurudev Singh Virk, Ravi Kamboj, Vineet Kamboj, and Aam Aadmi Party leader Happy Kamboj, were also present.Addressing the gathering in Mangala village, Kumari Selja said that the Modi government has done nothing but betray the people's trust. Sometimes they misled people by talking about depositing 15 lakh rupees in their accounts. She said that the BJP has created an atmosphere of division in the country and society. There is no democracy left in the country; the government has become authoritarian. People are fighting for their dignity and rights. Now we need to think about tomorrow by taking into account the interests of farmers, youth, women, and employees. The time has come where we have to save democracy and strengthen it. Youth need to be brought out of the abyss of addiction and integrated into mainstream society, providing them with employment. In a country where there are long queues of unemployed, the idea of development cannot be imagined. She said that the farmers are fighting for their rights, but the government does not have money to compensate them, yet lakhs and crores of loans of a few favored individuals are waived off. Is this what is called "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas"? Kumari Selja said that the Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency is her own family; her father, Chaudhary Dalbir Singh, has a connection with this constituency, and she started her political journey from this land. She has a deep bond with the people here; she has come and gone from Sirsa, and she has remained involved in the joys and sorrows of the people. She said that she is contesting elections at the behest of the people here. The truth is that it is not Selja but the people of Sirsa who are contesting the elections. We all need to come together to remove the BJP government from power; if the party is alive, then we are alive. We must not let the BJP's plans succeed. She said that no BJP leader talks about real issues; instead, they divert attention from real issues. The BJP knows that this time the people will not be misled, so the BJP talks about religion. Kumari Selja said that the BJP government had talked about doubling farmers' income, but it did not happen. However, in ten years, the economic burden on farmers has increased several times. Compensation is not being given for crops, farmers are protesting, and the government is running away from MSP (Minimum Support Price). Only assurances are being given on the MSP, but Congress promises that MSP law will be implemented, and all the encroachments of farmers will be waived off. The powers of village heads and local bodies' presidents will be restored. Youth and women will be given their rights. The BJP insults women and daughters in one way or another, but Congress will respect and honour women fully. A strict policy will be made regarding drug addiction. Addiction-free centers will be opened in every affected district to remove youth from addiction.
