Congress will make lakhs and crores of poor people rich through the Mahalaxmi Scheme—Rahul Gandhi

Modi made only 20-25 of his rich friends richer, and waived off Rs 16 lakh crore  loans of the rich—Rahul Gandhi

NEW DELHI, ---Congress leader Shri Rahul Gandhi said that the  Congress workers should  press the  button of Jaadu (broom) and the Aam Aadmi Party workers should press the button of Hand to help the  three Congress and four AAP candidates of India Alliance  sweep all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi as Congress’ aim was to save the Constitution made by Dr Ambedkar, Gandhiji and Nehruji and others to protect the interest of the poor, Dalits, Adivasis, the downtrodden and the underprivileges, as PM Modi wants to end the Constitution if he get a majority. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav welcomed Rahul Ji with a cotton garland when he arrived to address a mammoth election rally at the Ramlila ground, Ashok Vihar, in the Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency today. All the three Congress Lok Sabha candidates, Shri Jai Prakash Agarwal (Chandni Chowk), Dr Udit Raj (North West Delhi) and Shri Kanhaiya Kumar (North East Delhi), also addressed the meeting.

Prominent among those present at the rally were  AICC General Secretary Shri K.C. Venugaopal, treasurer Shri Ajay Maken, AICC General Secretary Delhi Incharge Shri Dipak Babaria, former PCC presidents Shri Subhash Chopra and Ch. Anil Kumar, former Union Cabinet Minister Shri P Chidambram, Shri C.P. Joshi, Delhi Ministers Shri Imran Hussain,  Communications & Media Chairman Shri Anil Bhardwaj,  Smt Krishna Tirath, AICC  SC Department Chairman Shri Rajesh Lilothia, All India Mahila Congress President Smt. Alka Lamba, Ex MP Shri Ramesh Kumar, AICC spokesperson Ragini Nayak,  former Delhi Ministers Haroon Yusuf, Shri Mangat Ram Singhal, Dr. Yoganand Shastri, AAP MLAs Rajesh Gupta, Vandana Kumar, Pawan Sharma and Akhilesh Tripathi, AICC secretary Amrita Dhawan, Kamal Kant Sharma, Jagparvesh Kumar, Delhi Sewa Dal Chief Sunil Kumar, Mohd. Usman,

Shri Rahul Gandhi, with a copy of the Constitution in his hand, said that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi made only 20-25 rich people get richer, Congress and the India Alliance will make lakhs and crores of poor people rich through its Mahalaxmi Scheme by depositing Rs 1 lakh per year in the account of the head of the woman of a poor family. He said that the Modi Government did not do any work for the traders and business persons of Delhi,  instead he only harmed the traders and businessmen through the ill-advised demonetisation and the wrong implementation of GST.

Shri Rahul Gandhi said that the Modi Government waived off the Rs 16 lakh crore loans of 20-25 rich industrialists, but provided no relief to small traders and business people. He said that PM Modi was privatizing the Railways, and many Public Sector Units have already been sold off, adding even the Red Fort has been privatized, to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. He said that the Electoral Bond was a major scam as the BJP pressurized people to donate to the party through electoral  bonds by using the  ED and CBI.

Shri Rahul Gandhi said that Congress will implement the five Nyay for youth, women, farmers, labour  and  hissedari to provide justice to them and uplift the lives of all sections of people.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that when the report card of BJP’s 10-year rule at the Centre is taken into account, people have only struggles and difficulties to narrate as the Capital had witnessed unprecedented rise in the prices of all essential items, record unemployment rate ever witnessed in the country, including  the worst-ever in the past 45 years in Delhi, and unchecked air and water pollution, which has reduced the lifespan of people by at least 11 years. He said that the prices of cooking gas, petrol and diesel rose sharply but the BJP Government  did not bother about the plight of the common people, He said that 5 out of 10 youth are unemployed, though India boasts of being a young nation, but unfortunately the unemployed youth were wasting away their time in destructive pursuits in the absence of gainful employment, as the Modi Government only propagated false narratives  like the promise of generating 2 crore jobs every year, without even bothering to fill the 30 lakh jobs vacant in Central Government offices.

Shri Devender Yadav said that  when the Congress-led UPA Government was in power at the Centre, while a litre of petrol, which cost Rs 70 ten years ago in Delhi, was now costing Rs 96 while the prices of diel rose from Rs 55  per litre to over Rs 86 per litre though the BJP Government had promised to bring down the petrol prices to Rs 35 per litre, He wondered what happened to all those empty rhetoric by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as the BJP Government only made promises without delivering them. He said that the BJP Government was directly responsible for the severe air and water pollution in Delhi, as it did not take any step to implement the pollution control norm in the 11 coal-based power plants in the neighbourhood of Delhi, which were under the direct control of the Central Government, but contributing largely to the air pollution of Delhi.

Congress candidate of India Alliance for the Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency Shri Jai Prakash Agarwal said that the traders, business community and the local residents have been suffering for the past 10 years as the sitting BJP MP had totally ignored the constituency, and as a result, the general condition and infrastructure of the area have deteriorated beyond imagination. He said that it was his assurance to the people of Chandni Chowk that if they give me a chance, I will serve them like no one before had done for the overall improvement of the area.
