Congress would spare no effort to strengthen the party at all levels in Delhi—Devender Yadav


 NEW DELHI, July 24, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav, addressing an executive committee meeting of the DPCC Minority Department at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan here today,  said that Delhi Congress has been holding such meetings to strengthen the party in the Capital at all levels with the full involvement of all the stakeholders. He said that Congress workers have been inspired and motivated by the Block and District  Congress Committee meetings and they have resolved to  work unitedly, with the total involvement of the people of  Delhi, to consolidate and strengthen the party at the ground level. The programme was organized by Chairman of the Delhi Pradesh Minority Department Shri Abdul Wahid Qureshi.

 

Shri Devender Yadav said that the strong performance of the various Cells and  Departments and the Block and District Congress committees will give a big boost to the party in the upcoming  Delhi Assembly elections, as there was a general air of expectancy among the Congress workers about the party  returning to power in Delhi with a strong performance.

 

Besides Shri Devender Yadav, prominent others present at the meeting were  Rajya Sabha MP Shri Imran Pratapgarhi, Chairman of the Communications Department and ex-MLA Shri Anil Bhardwaj, Minority Deptt Incharge Shahnawaj Sheikh, Municipal Councillor Sameer Mansoori and Minority Deptt. office bearers.

 

Shri Devender Yadav said that Congress workers would have to take all sections of people together to strengthen the party at the booth level,  as people were now looking upto the Congress party to repeat its good work of the previous  15-year rule in Delhi.

 

Shri Devender Yadav said that very soon, Block Congress Committees will be divided into ward-wise for a total number of 258 blocks and each block will be divided into two Mandals and each Mandal will be further divided into sectors with 5-7 pooling booths to be clubbed into one sector. He said that people were getting attracted to the Congress party due to the dynamic leadership of Congress president Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of  the Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi as they have been forcefully raising issues relevant to people’s welfare both inside and outside Parliament, which has created a ripple effect.

 

Shri Imran Pratapgarhi appealed to the Congress workers to fully expose the incompetence and irresponsible governance of both the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party Governments because of which people have been suffering endless agony. He said that Shri Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra have played a significant role spreading love and affection among the people, and his efforts had paid off greatly in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that corruption and incompetence have been the fixed features of both the BJP and AAP Governments, as people’s welfare was least of their concerns, and Congress workers should highlight this fact.
