Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Deveder Yadav offers floral tribute to former CM Smt. Sheila Dikshit Ji on her 5th death anniversary at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan

NEW DELHI, July 20, 2024—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav, along with a large number of Congress leaders and workers, offered floral tribute to late Chief Minister, Smt. Sheila Dikshit, on her 5th death anniversary at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan here today. Shri Devender Yadav said that Smt. Sheila Dikshit, with great vision, foresight, planning and hard work, had turned  Delhi into a modern, green and clean city, with all-round development works, which had been hailed by other countries across the world, but the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP conspired to destroy the city with their constant bickerings and accusations without doing any positive work in the Delhi Government and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

Shri Devender Yadav said that the Sheila Dikshit Government worked as a united team to carry out the all-round development of the city, as the focus was on work, not on individuals, as had happened in the case of the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP, which only practiced personality worship, thereby stalling the development works of the Capital. He said that during the Congress regime, there was never ever the question of streets getting water-logged during monsoon, air becoming toxic with vehicular fumes and dusts from the broken roads and streets, falling standard of education in Government schools due to disturbed conditions, creaky infrastructure, lack of teaching staff etc. and the pitiable condition of Government hospitals, preventing the poor from getting any kind of medicare.

 

Shri Devender Yadav said that the Sheila Dikshit Government always carried out the desilting of drains and sewers well ahead of the monsoon rains, public transport was converted into CNG to eliminate vehicular pollution, and with proper maintenance/repair and reconstruction of roads, lanes and bylanes dust pollution was eliminated, school education was made a matter of pride for the poor and health infrastructure was strengthened to provide free treatment to the poor, but now everything has gone haywire with a CM in absentia.
