DPCC president Devender Yadav blames both AAP and the Lt. Governor for colluding in the felling of trees on the protected Ridge area

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that it was a matter of deep concern that the Supreme Court has rapped Lt. Governor Shri V.K.Saxena for granting permission to fell nearly 1100 trees in the protected Ridge area without proper consideration despite an ongoing application from the DDA pending before the court, and wondered how could the LG act so recklessly without following laid down rules and regulations, at the recommendation of the Kejriwal Government.

Shri Devender Yadav said that earlier, the apex used to take the Government for task for the many wrong doings, now it has come down heavily on the LG too for the tree felling, which raises a big question about the disturbed state of administration in the Capital. He said that instead of enhancing the green cover in the Capital, the LG had colluded with the AAP Government in cutting trees in the protected Ridge, which is the lung of the Capital.

Shri Devender Yadav said that it was perplexing that how the Lt. Governor, who had overturned many  decisions, signed on a file to cut the trees, without thinking about the damage and consequences his decision would cause to the ecosystem of the  protected ridge.
