To strengthen the party at the grass-root level, all 14 District Congress Committees hold ’meetings of office-bearers—Such meetings will be held every month.

 

NEW DELHI, —To strengthen  the Congress party at the grass-root level, motivate and  activate the workers, all the 14 District Congress Committees, at the direction of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav, held meetings in their respective areas, and involved local residents also in the gathering, so that they become part and parcel of all the activities of the Congress party. The meetings were attended by the DCC office-bearers, ex-MPs, ex-MLAs, Municipal Councillors, ex-Councillors, senior leaders, all Block presidents and office-bearers, office-bearers of Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, Sewa Dal, Cells and Departments, and newly-appointed District observers.

 

The District presidents who organised the meetings were Ex MLA Surender Kumar, Madan Khorwal, Virender Kasana, Gurcharan Singh, Adv. Dinesh Kumar, Rajesh Chauhan, Manoj Yadav, Adesh Bhardwaj, Ch. Zubair Ahmad, Vishnu Aarwal, Mirza Javed Ali, Satbir Sharma and Dharampal Chandela

 

The workers meetings at the Block level on 2nd and District meetings on 5th of every month will draw up the roadmap to strengthen the party at all levels for which the RWAs, social and other organizations, prominent citizens, and influential people of the area will be involved.

 

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that after the rise in the Congress vote share in the Lok Sabha elections, the morale of the Congress workers have received a fresh impetus, as people now look upto the Congress party to provide an able and stable Government in Delhi, without the stigma of corruption. He said that in the past 10 years, the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party have ruined Delhi in every possible manner, and Delhiites, who have lost faith in both these parties, now solely rely on the Congress to provide an effective Government, and resume the stalled development and welfare works. He said that Congress’ 15-year rule had changed the face of Delhi with all-round developments, making it one of the most beautiful  cities in the world, and people want those good old days  back once again.

 

Shri Devender Yadav said that the standout performance  of Leader of the Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha has rekindled hope and expectation among the people and the Congress workers, which was reflected in the meetings of the office-bearers of the District Congress Committees, as a large number of Congress workers and leaders participated in the meetings. He said that  the main purpose of the BCC and DCC meetings was to motivate the Congress workers and strengthen the party by reaching out to people, and find solutions to their problems.

 

Shri Devender Yadav said that the BJP and the Kejriwal Government have put back the development of Delhi by several years with corruption, incompetence and inaction in the past 10 years, and people now consider Congress as their saviours.
