AAP celebrates the bail of Sisodia as if he has been exonerated by the court--people want the corrupt punished—Congress’ consistent stand has been that the guilty should get jail, and innocent bail—Devender Yadav

NEW DELHI—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav said that Delhi Congress had taken the  consistent stand that the corrupt should get jail and innocents should not be punished in the now scrapped liquor policy, but Manish Sisodia, who spent 17 months behind bars, and was denied bail eight times by the courts, continues to be an accused in the liquor scam and money laundering cases, though the Aam Aadmi Party celebration gives the false impression that he had been acquitted from the case.

Shri Devender Yadav said that the Congress party firmly believes in the fairness of the judicial system, and the courts will not keep innocent in jail without bail for long periods. He said that those involved in the liquor scam try to create a false impression that they are all innocents, and the actions by the ED and the CBI were mere political witch-hunt, without explaining why the old liquor policy was scrapped in a hurry when the Lt. Governor ordered a CBI probe into the liquor scam.

Shri Devender Yadav said that the Aam Aadmi Party leaders will not be able to face the people with a straight face after failing to provide potable water during the extreme summer this year, prevent water-logging and many avoidable deaths though the party is in power both in Delhi and theMunicipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). He said that AAP cannot make any excuses for failing to keep the civic infrastructure in proper shape, and for failing to carry out cleaning of the drains and sewers before the monsoon. He said that the drains had not been cleaned for the past 10 years became clear when hundreds of tonnes of silt and wastes were removed from the Barapullah after the Lt. Governor directed the MCD to clean it following water-logging.

Shri Devender Yadav said that Delhiites  have now realized the huge corruption committed by the AAP Government in implementing the old liquor policy, and Sisodia cannot claim innoncence till the court exonerates him from all the charges against him.
