Kejriwal exploited the auto-taxi drivers for his personal political gains without conceding any of their demands after coming to power, as he made only hollow promises—Devender Yadav
NEW DELHI, —Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Devender Yadav assured the representatives of the All Delhi Auto Taxi Transport Congress Union (ADATTCU), who met him at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, to discuss the challenges they face in plying their autos/taxis on Delhi roads to earn their livelihood, that Congress will take up their issues and would not allow injustice to be done to them. He said that the Kejriwal Government and the BJP had only exploited them with false promises without conceding any of their genuine demands. He said that when Congress was in power in Delhi, auto drivers did not have to face any difficulty in getting licences and renewals or other matters related to plying of autos and taxis.
Shri Devender Yadav said that Arvind Kejriwal had grossly exploited the auto drivers by running his false narrative through them before coming to power, but after becoming the CM, Kejriwal only deceived them with false promises. He said that Kejriwal had made tall promises to the auto drivers, which included establishing thousands of auto stands, auto stand at the airport, bank loans to purchase autos without waiting and black, bribes in the Transport Department will be eliminated etc. but none of these promises were fulfilled.
Shri Devender Yadav said that Congress was firmly standing with the ADATTCU in their fight for justice as the Kejriwal Government had misled them with assurances of fulfilling their demands whenever an election approached, and that’s what was happening now, as the AAP Government was trying to use auto-taxi drivers to varnish its tarnished image by launching a false propapaganda campaign of the so called “development works” of the Kejriwal Government in the past 10 years. He said that the BJP had also used the auto-taxi drivers for making political campaigns without doing anything for them though they play a very vital role in providing rather cheap transport services to the commuters in the absence of an effective public transport system with the DTC in a totally dilapidated state.
Shri Devender Yadav said that the neglect and non-cooperation faced by the auto-taxi unions from the ruling parties was evident from the fact that their attempt to get an appointment with the Lt. Governor to take up their problems with him have not yet succeeded.
